Description

A compression pump is a medical device used to improve circulation and prevent blood clots by applying intermittent or sequential compression to the limbs. It consists of an inflatable garment or sleeve that wraps around the affected limb(s) and a pump that inflates and deflates the garment in a controlled manner. The compression pump helps to stimulate blood flow in the veins, reducing swelling and preventing the pooling of blood, particularly in patients at risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or venous ulcers. Compression pumps are commonly used during surgery, in patients who are immobile or bedridden, or in those with conditions such as lymphedema or peripheral vascular disease. They are effective in promoting circulation and reducing the risk of complications associated with poor blood flow.
